EXCLUSIVE: PARTY OF 60 AT THE NUTSHELL ON LAKE HUNTINGTON TIED TO EMERGENCY MEETING

LAKE HUNTINGTON - An emergency meeting of the Town of Cochecton Town Board at 6:30 pm tonight is connected to a party with over 60 guests last Wednesday at The Nutshell on Lake Huntington, a source who is familiar with the situation has told The SullivanTimes.

Two of those guests have tested positive for Covid-19 and the source said that at least one town employee attended the event and might have been exposed.

Nutshell owner Juan Rigal could not immediately be reached for comment but he told Department of Health inspectors in January that he wanted to sell the restaurant, according to DOH inspection records.

A real estate broker source told The SullivanTimes late this afternoon that Greg Semenetz, the Code Enforcement Officer in Cochecton, introduced Rigal to listing broker Nancy Barnhart.

Barnhart, reached by phone today, declined to comment on the transaction, but a record found on her firm's website shows it is currently in contract.
