LIBERTY - Village of Liberty Mayor Ron Stabak, Liberty Police Chief Scott Kinne and First Sergeant Tim Vogler are all retiring, two sources have told The SullivanTimes today.

Stabak has been eyeing a run for Village of Liberty Justice to replace Kirk Orseck - but it's unclear at press time why Kinne and Vogler are also leaving.

Yet, Kinne is a close colleague of Sheriff Michael Schiff. The pair have been seen this week, more than once, having extended lunch meetings at the New Munson Diner, one of the sources said.

A third source today told The SullivanTimes that Kinne may be headed to a top investigative position in District Attorney Meagan Galligan's office.

Separately, The SullivanTimes has also learned that a Village employee in the Department of Public Works department was seriously injured and lost a leg on Tuesday after the garbage truck he was riding on was struck by a driver on Chestnut Street. That employee was reportedly airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and is still being treated.

THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY
