A notice sent from Garnet Health to the New York State Department of Labor last month announced that 29 employees will lose their jobs as a result of "plant closing."
Two Sullivan doctor sites are listed among five Garnet medical offices to close. They are a CRMC Primary Care site at 38 Concord Road in Monticello and CRMC OB GYN at 68 Harris Bushville Road in Harris.
The SullivanTimes has reached out to the State DOH for comment about whether the agency has been petitioned by Garnet Health officials for permission to close either or both its hospital sites (Harris and Callicoon) in Sullivan.
Late Friday afternoon , Jeffrey Hammond, a spokesman for the Department of Health, said that it "has not been contacted by Garnet regarding the closure of its Sullivan County site."
Meanwhile, Garnet Health late Friday also shot down social media reports that Garnet Health/Catskills was poised to close.
A voice mail was also left Friday afternoon for Legislator Nicholas Salomone, Jr., chair of the County Legislature's Health & Family Services Committee, to ask for comment.
