JUDGE OFFICIALLY ORDERS PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTS IN 2 TRI-VALLEY CVA CASES INVOLVING DONALD WALES

L. Michael Mackey, an Acting State Supreme Court Judge in Sullivan County , today (Tuesday) signed an order mandating that Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Galligan produce a series of documents relating to two pending Child Victims Act cases against former teacher Donald Wales, the Tri-Valley Central School District and the District's Board of Education.

The documents requested include communications from former DA Stephen Lungen (who was Galligan's first boss) and any New York State Police troopers involved in Wales' arrest.

It also calls for the production of a September 1984 letter from Wales' then-attorney to Lungen, that reportedly lists the names of Wales' sex abuse victims that are in addition to the three plaintiffs in these two pending cases.

The judge wrote in by hand that those names must be redacted.

The plaintiff's attorney, Hugh Sandler, also sought in a motion - and the judge has agreed -----that documents must also be produced relating to the 1971 investigation, arrest and conviction of Wales while he was employed as a teacher in Warwick.
