FAMILY MEMBERS TALK ABOUT THEIR LOVED ONES WHO HAVE BEEN RESIDENTS OF THE GRAND HEALTHCARE SYSTEM - A CANDIDATE TO TAKE OVER MANAGEMENT/LEASE OF THE CARE CENTER AT SUNSET LAKE
Tomorrow, the Sunset Lake Local Development Corporation begins meetings and deliberations with four companies that seek to lease/manage The Care Center at Sunset Lake.
One of them is a chain called The Grand Healthcare System.
In our continuing coverage of this issue, here are some stories from family members of residents in other The Grand Healthcare System facilities in their own words about how their loved ones have been treated.
Their stories include a resident who wondered off from the facility without detection, a resident who had no wristband for two weeks, patients left alone with serious medical conditions for extended periods of time without proper care and sending residents back home in very weak physical positions.
This Zoom interview was conducted tonight and just concluded.
Yesterday, The SullivanTimes published Part 1 of this series.
Jeremy Strauss, CEO of The Grand Healthcare, has been in contact with The SullivanTimes and had agreed to talk with The SullivanTimes, which offered him a one-hour Zoom interview. In addition, links to both these stories have been sent to Rob Doherty, chair of the County Legislature for comment.
Update: At 9:35 pm on Thursday, The SullivanTimes received a statement in response from The Grand Healthcare regarding Part 1 of our series that was published January 6.
